  9.     Here's my contribution to the recent timing data postings:

  11. On a MacPlus with 4MB RAM, 40MB hard disk,
  12. System 6.0.2, (Single)Finder, 512K RAM cache:

  14.     Build MacApp 2.0:                                   61 minutes
  15.     Build DrawShapes:                                   10 minutes
  16.     Build DrawShapes,
  17.       after a trivial change to UDrawShapes.inc1.p:      6 minutes

  20.     Several months ago I tested the DayStar 33MHz 68030 accelerator.  I got
  21. about a 30% reduction in build time.  For me, this was not enough to justify
  22. the cost.  However, DayStar will be announcing several companion products at
  23. the Boston MacWorld show, in addition to their new 50 MHz accelerator.  I will
  24. be giving it another look.  If they can reduce a 10 minute compile to under a
  25. minute, it just might be worth the investment.
